One of the original maps has been
designated for retention in the Division's Durango Field Office records.
The proposed final Reclamation Map shows the areas that will be reclaimed and the approximate
final contours of reclaimed areas. The map can be compared to the existing Carnation Mine,
Permit M-1977-416, 1" = 100' site map, revised 11/24/03, to see which structures, facilities,
roads, etc. are to be removed during reclamation. Pre-Reclamation spot elevations are posted on
the Final Reclamation Map to show recontouring and grading work.
While all Reclaimed Areas will be revegetated, the paucity of existing and salvaged topsoil
limits that areal extent that will be covered with topsoil prior to reseeding. Therefore, no
distinction is shown on the Reclamation Map regarding where the limited quantities of topsoil
might be placed.
Please let me know if you have any questions on the proposed Final Reclamation Map.
Sincerely,
~, v ~~
Terr}s V.
