Boettcher Mine, M-1977-348
Dear Mr. Sorensen:
On behalf of our client, Holcim (US) Inc., please accept the following information for a technical
revision on reclamation permit M-1977-348, "Boettcher Mine. This technical revision is to
provide updated information regarding reclamation activities at the Boettcher Mine.
Specifically, it is proposed that the main haul road running south to north through the site be
included in the final reclamation plan.
The final land use for the property is dry rangeland, and, although not a typical rangeland
property road, the haul road in its current condition will provide better access to the neazly
5-mile long site. Even following reclamation, the site will consist of rocky terrain with steep
slopes, ledges, and shallow cliffs. The extra width and durability of the haul road will provide
safer access to remote areas of the site. Although the current haul road will benefit the reclaimed
final land use of dry rangeland, the road could also benefit future potential development on the
site and adjacent county lands. ,
The haul road varies in width between approximately 30 and 40 feet wide and is constructed
from well compacted mine overburden material. Over its entire length, the road is nearly level
with existing grade, providing easy access to adjacent rangeland. The haul road proposed to
remain for final reclamation is highlighted on the attached plan maps.
The proposed reclamation activities aze not
reclamation plan or final land use and, therefore,
-cover the proposed reclamation activities.
expected to significantly change the overall
we believe that the existing bond is adequate to
1499 West 120th Avenue, Suite 200
Denver, Colorado 90234-2759
(303) 452-6611 • Faz (303) 452-2759
www.applegategroup.com
