Berry, Divn. Minerals I£ Geology
To: Mined Land Reclamation Board Members
From: Barbara J. Stratman, Surtace Land Owner, Gunnison County
Re: Formal Puhlic Ha4riup _ O•C• ~2 . CoaLJlillIIa - G-80.-Q122
Wlth apologies, please accept this FAX letter in place of my appearance at
the scheduled hearing. Due to travel related problems, I am unable to
attend in person as I had planned. However, I would greatly appreciate the
opportunity to express my concerns as the surface property owner through
this FAX communication.
I certainly 'appreciate the progress made on the reclamation plans to date.
Although the completion date was not met, I am hopeful a new date will be
set and reclamation work contracted out to a qualified company. The area
is located in the middle of our cattle ranch and is, among other problems,
an eyesore, visible from a great distance.
1 I
I do, however, appreciate the efficient, informative and cordial assistance
I have experienced from the Division of Minerals and Geology.
it is certainly not my desire to cause Mr. Weaver any hardship and I hope
civil penalties are not assessed. I simply desire to have the site
restored to its original state in the most expedient manner possible and
will most certainly appreciate any positive steps that Can be taken to
achieve this goal. I
Most respectfully,

Barbara Stratman
10458 C. R. 730
Gunnison, CO 81230
970 64f-0038
