The dominant species in the <br />potential plant comuuaity are Blue grama, 4estern whea tgrass and Greer^^.^, <br />needlegrass. <br />Climate <br />Precipitation averages around 13" annually with wide fluctuations from Bear <br />to fear. 60 -754 of preci-itation is received between May and October. <br />Soils <br />Refer to soils maV and soil descriptions. <br />Rer.lamat ion <br />Any existing topsoil should be stockpiled. This stockpile should be <br />protected from wind and water erosion. A good method of protection is to <br />seed the stockpile with a permanent cover. - <br />Reclamation will require grading and reshapinc the area. Any steep faces <br />need to be blended into a gradual slope f3:1 or be *. ter) prior to seeding. <br />Reclamation should begin as quickly as possible after mining activities in <br />the area cease. <br />Ref ec to seeding recommendation for seeding specifics.
