The
purpose of this inspection was to identify existing drainage patterns/structures, evaluate
areas of concern identified in the CMLAD's letter of 23 October 1990, and discussed
in the subsequent 2 November 1990 meeting, and develop appropriate drainage
remediation plans.
The existing drainage system consists of the following features as shown on Figure 1,
Lower Pit 5 and Access Road -Present Drainage Configuration;
1) A natural drainage approximately 150' north of Pit 5
2) Grassy Creek, which parallels the Pit 1 access road on the east side of the
Pit 5 area
3) Disturbed area collection ditches on the north side of Pit 5 ,•
4) Access road collection ditches paralleling the Pit 5 access road ~ ~
5) Contour furrows on the Pft 5 basin area and a contour ditch on the ~ E
northeast corner of the reclaimed area adjacent to the Pit 5 access road
6) A small undesignated culvert carrying flows from the north collection ditch
to Culvert 5-4
7) Culvert 5-4 which carries disturbed area drainage under the Pit 5 access ,~'
road
8) The disturbed area collection ditch connecting Culvert 5-4 with Pond 5/6
9) Pond 5/6
10) tJndisiurbed area diversion ditches on the west and north sides of Pit 5
and west and south sides of Pit 6
i t) Culvert 5-3 which carries undisturbed area drainage and natural drainage `•
under a light use road
12) The undisturbed area diversion ditch connecting Culvert 5-3 with Culvert
5-2 which discharges to Grassy Creek ~,~ ~~, ~,~
