Based on
the positive results of the testwork, the San Luis Project will
be conducting a plant test to evaluate the use of liquid oxygen
in the leaching circuit. Initially, liquid oxygen will be
injected into tank one, but other injection locations in the
circuit may be tested. The trial period is expected tc Legin mid
May and last one month, but may be extended depending on the
early results. Testwork has indicated a potential reduction in
cyanide consumption of 33% and an increase in gold recovery of
about 2.50.
Air Liquide America will be supplying the portable 6000 to 9000
gallon oxygen supply system. No additional structures at the site
will be necessary as the system is portable and temporary. This
system will include suitable vaporizers, gas regulation
equipment, and safety devices. The safety devices include an
adequately sized oxygen flow control and metering system,
incl~~ding a fail-safe valve that will shut off the flow of oxygen
in the event of an electrical power outage. Air Liquide America
will provide an Applications Engineer to assist during the trial
period. Oxygen safety training and applicable literature will be
provided for all personnel involved prior to the start ~f the
trial.
A SUBCfD1AR t' OF BATRC M1fOUKLAlN COLD COMPANY
P.O.
