Approval for final reclamation of said lease tract was
received on January 29, 2003. Final reclamation commenced in
March, 2003 and was completed in August, 2003.
Reclamation activities consisted of re-contouring the mine waste
dump, backfilling the portal, plugging the three vent holes, and
removing the shop building:.
The height of the mine waste dump was reduced by pushing material
to the south and east. The dump was then covered with stockpiled
topsoil, pocked to enhance surface moisture retention, and seeded
with the appropriate seed mixture.
The portal was backfilled using mine waste material. The portal
timbers were then removed and the portal area was backfilled to
blend with the natural topography in that immediate area. This
area was then covered with stockpiled topsoil, and seeded.
The three vent holes were plugged with polyurethane foam, then
covered with native soil and rocks, and seeded. The power lines
to the vent holes were removed by San Miguel Power.
The shop building, the compressor shed, the oil shed, and the
remaining surface facilities were removed. The surface yard area
was then covered with topsoil, scarified, and seeded.
The performance bonding requirement for the above stated lease
tract is currently set at $29,018. The only foreseeable
additional expenditure"would be reseeding, which could be
accomplished by broadcast seeding.
Cotter Corporation -West Slope Operations
P.O.
