Immediately measure pH on all 3 samples. <br />5. Split these filtered samples as follows [for each of (a), (b), and <br /> (c)]: <br /> (1) Sp11t the filtered sample into approx. 2 equal parts. <br /> (ii) Part 1- Take 4 sample bottles and fill them ull. <br /> (iii) Part 2- (a) Bring Part 2 to a pH of 11.6 by adding a 25% <br />n <br />L I'~ No~ solution of NaOH. <br />(b) Thorou <br />hl <br />mix <br /> y <br />g <br />. <br />5 (c) Take 3 sample bottles and fill them full. <br />These bottles shall be marked: <br />1 "As is" - 1 Adjusted <br />2 "As is" - 2 Adjusted <br />3 or 4 "AS is" - 3 or 4 Adjusted <br />to correspond with 1, 2, and 3 or 4 on th@ "Daily Log of <br />Analytical Results." 3 or 4 will designat@ which pond is <br />receiving the tailings. <br />6. Take one of the "As is," [Part 1] bottles and analyze according to <br />the "Daily Log of Analytical Results." <br />7. Keep one "As is" and one "pH Adjusted" bottle. <br />8. Send two "As is" and two "pH Adjusted" bottles, UPS 6vernight direct <br />to Acculab and Analytica. These bottle shall arrive on Wednesday <br />for the Monday sample, and Friday for the Wednesday sample. <br />9. Analyze your 2 retained samples commencing on Wednesday for the <br />Monday sample and Friday for the Wednesday sample. <br />10. Third-party labs will analyze at the same time. <br />11. Analyze in the following order: <br />(a) pH <br />(b) (CN)- free <br />(c) WAD <br />(d) Metals vJ~` g ~.. <br />.~s~- <br />Note: (i) Metals will probably be dropped quickly from third-party, " <br />(ii) pH will probably be dropped quickly from third-party. <br />(iii) WAD will probably soon be dropped from third-party. <br />(iv) One third-party will be dropped in 3-4 weeks. <br />(v) "As is" sample will be dropped after two weeks. <br />BE/ <br />
