Box 316 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ <br />STEEL pueblo, Colorado 81002 MAY 1 5 1987 <br />,..~~ <br />MINED I.ANi.~ <br />May 7 , 1987 RECLAMAT1O4J DIVISION <br />Mr. David Shelton <br />` t, Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />423 Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />RE Canon Dolomite Quarry - File M-77-376 <br />Dear Mr. Shelton: <br />In compliance with the Board's order on April 22, 1987 <br />CF&I Steel Corporation will not commence with any activity <br />or change the present temporary cessation status at the <br />Canon Dolomite Quarry, File M-77-376, without giving a 30- <br />day advance notice to the Board with a description of what <br />planned activities are going to be. <br />In accordance with the above: <br />In 30 days, CF&I Steel Corporation plans to begin <br />abatement of the problems noted in your report for the <br />inspection conducted April 15, 1987, and removal of the <br />stockpiles and rubble from the quarry floor, either on-site <br />or off-site (including possible sale of the material), in <br />accordance with our existing reclamation plan. <br />CF&I feels that these activities are not mining because <br />they are necessary for compliance and are necessary to <br />carryout our reclamation plan so they should not impact <br />our continuation temporary cessation status.
