Thank you for meeting with me on October 25r° to observe the repairs performed
on the leaking water line, to observe the new subsidence damage to our property and
home, and to visit the site of the methane well.
In order to eliminate any possible confusion and/or misunderstanding on the part
of DMG and/or Basin, to cotttmit to writing and for clarification of my October 16, 2000
letter directed to the Office of Surface Mining and copied to your office, I again submit
the following complaint against Basin Resources, Inc.
We are observing new subsidence damage to our home located at 12630 Highway
12, Weston, Colorado. The new damage is evident throughout the home with cracking
and movement. As I related to you on October 25u' the new damage can be observed with
the cracks on the western wall of the home, interior and exterior and the southern wall of
the home as well as several other new cracks throughout the home. The kitchen cabinets
are pulling away from the wall, cracks are observed on the back splash of the kitchen's
westem-most walls as well a_s above the refrigerator and around the spice rack. This
subsidence damage was not evident during the prior investigation. The side porch and
entrance to the kitchen is now displaying movement in the head beams of the parch
wherein you placed a pen in the crack closest to the backside door. The cracking along
the exterior westem facing wall (backyazd) and the corner exterior walls of the attached
shop (southern-western exterior walls} are indicative of new subsidence damage and were
not present during the prior inspection. We are observing new cracks in the interior of
the home, movement in the floor as demonstrated in the lame bulge in the dinning room
