C-93-156.
A report is included under this cover to address each of the items
specified in your letter of 3/1/94.
A brief summary of the concerns raised by the division are as
follows:
1. The test location is located on a map of pit 4 (map 1). This
map is extracted from permit map 77.
2. A detailed explanation of the site selection, test procedure
and relevance of test results is included.
3. An explanation of the "Erroneous Moisture Readings" given by
the test instrument and how this problem is handled to provide
accurate results.
To address the second set of concerns:
1. Western Fuels intended to ask, because the results of the pilot
test were so decisive, that the pilot test area and results be
accepted as one of the official test areas.
2. The data generated by the nuclear gauge testing is accurate
when used according to the manufactures operating instructions &
ASTM D-2922-91.
[ksendo M1Une
P.O.
