This is the only gulch crossing.
(c) Shown on map.
(d) Pit floor contour lines are shown on map. Note we changed to a 1% grade for
drainage. This will allow a considerable amount of extra material to be mined.
(e) The northeastern topsoil stockpile area in Pit 1 is located with the northern end at
8080 elevation. This will allow easy access to the benches to be top soiled, as
well as 3:1 slope area immediately west and south of stockpile area. This topsoil
site will have earthen berm on east side to control runoff into pit area. The
southwestern topsoil stockpile area shown on map will be remaining topsoil in Pit
1. A diversion ditch for runoffwill be constructed along westerly side directed to
runoff structure. This area of Pit 1 will be part of the mining phase. At this time
any remaining topsoil in this area will be moved to eastern Pit 2 topsoil area.
Once mining is completed, slopes will be top soiled prior to commencing
operations in Pit 2. The two Pit 2 topsoil stockpile areas we situated in Pit I floor
due to the fact there is not area in Pit 2 because of 1:1 slopes and benches.
Exhibit D-Mining Plan (Rule 6.4.4)
As mining of a bench is complete, bench will be sloped inward to the wall to eliminate
erosion over the face and to help hold water to sustain growth. Bench will be top soiled
and seeded before mining proceeds downward to the next bench. The areas of 3:1 slopes
will be mined from the top down. As area of slope is mined and slope is prepared, topsoil
will be placed and seeded. As I noted earlier, slopes will be mined on 3:1 to help
reclamation costs as well as top soil placement as mining progresses. Top soil will be
placed on 3:1 slopes with a wheel loader and spread with a dozer. As you can see, the
