1 • III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII •
999
1
EXHIBIT G s 1'~
1
1 Water Resources
The existing gravel pit mining operation is situated on a ridge adjacent to two small
' unnamed dry watercourses located north and south of the site. The two drainageways flow
only during periods of substantial stormwater runoff and drain a relatively small combined
1 area of approximately 300 acres. The existing pit is located within the upper elevations of
the drainage basin approximately 50' above the drainageways. Stormwater runoff from the
gravel pit is primarily retained on site and allowed to percolate into the cobbly loam soil.
1 The existing gravel pit and the proposed expansion does not and will not intercept any
groundwater. The closest water source to the site is the Uncompahgre River located
1 approximately 3000 feet to the west and nearly 450 feet below the pit. There are no water
requirements for this mining operation and therefore does not use any direct stream flows.
1 An NPDES permit is not required since Ouray County is under 100,000 in population.
1
1
1
1

1
1
1
