Long <br />Division DlrecWr <br />Re: Additional Information for the Rimrock Mine (C-89-074) <br />Inspection March 30, 1995 <br />Dear Mr. Porter: <br />As we agreed on March 30, 1995 at the close of the inspection of the Rimrock Mine <br />(C-89-074) there were four items that I would investigate regarding the records of the <br />Rimrock Mine. These four items were: the insurance document did not list the mine <br />permittee or the specific mine, the ownership and control information in the permit located <br />at the Las Animas Court House did not list Landmark Reclamation, inc. as the operator, <br />a recent query by your office of the Applicant/Violator System (AVS) indicated a "denyn <br />recommendation for this permit applicant, and engineer's certification on quarterly pond <br />inspection reports for the first three quarters of 1994. <br />Enclosed with this letter are copies of items in question. <br />1) The insurance document now lists the name of the Rimrock Mine and Rimrock Coal <br />Company on the document and complies with the requirements of Rule 2.03.9. <br />2) Ownership and control information. The ownership and control information has <br />been revised in the permit to reflect Landmark Reclamation, Inc. is the operator. <br />This was revised in May 1993 in response to the Division's issuance of NOV-C-93- <br />055. This was minor revision No. 5 and was approved by the Division on June 4, <br />1993. This permit page was again revised July 26, 1995 to reflect a change in the <br />surface landowner. The operator has sent these revised pages to the Las Animas <br />Court House permit copy. <br />3) The last query of the AVS by the Division resulted in a system recommendation of <br />"issue" dated November 8, 1993. There has not been a permitting action of a Permit <br />Revision (PR), Transfer,Assignment or Sale of Permit Rights (SO), or a Permit <br />Renewal (RN) since that date. The Division has just received an application for a <br />Permit Renewal and will resolve the AVS recommendation during our review. <br />
