The two sedimentation ponds do not discharge either directly into a stream or into a drainage which flows to a stream. Sedimentation Pond 12 would discharge to a drainage ditch adjacent to the state highway. The East Yard Pond would discharge adjacent to the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. It is estimated that any discharge from either of these ponds would have to flow ', mile to reach the North Fork of the Gunnison River (assuming that the flow could reach the river). Any discharge would be comingled with storm runoff from the surrounding area before reaching the river. It should be noted that neither pond has discharged up to the present time. The design capacity for the two sedimentation ponds are as follows: Sedimentation Pond 12 East Yard Pond 1028 cf 8513 cf Both ponds are designed to fully contain the runoff from a 10 year 24 hour precipitation event. The design calculations have been reviewed and approved by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division. Please review this situation and determine if the two ponds should be added to the Somerset CPDES permit. If it is determined that the ponds should be added, please revise the permit to make the addition. Assign outfall numbers as follows: 009 Sedimentation Pond 12 010 East Yard Sedimentation Pond
