~.~ <br /> <br />Report to the File and Assessment Office <br />American Fuels, Inc. <br />NOV#84-2-244-7 (1 of 1) <br />Report: NOV 84-2-244-7 <br />The previous owner Ravenwood Coal Co. sold their mining operation <br />to American Fuels Inc. sometime prior to August of 1982. After <br />the sale, Ravenwood Coal was audited and the account settled. <br />American Fuels has had responsibility since October of 1982 to <br />pay their reclamation fees. <br />The President of American Fuels, Raymond Wiley, was contacted via <br />phone June 18, 1984 by John Sender, FCO, OS~l, Albuquerque. Mr. <br />Ailey was reminded about his reclamation fee responsibilities <br />and copies of the reporting form were mailed to him at that time. <br />September 7, 1984 - The State of Colorado was sent a Ten-Day <br />Notice (TDN) #84-2-244-7 notifying the State of the violation <br />that the company has failed to report production to facilitate <br />payment of reclamation fees and failure to pay reclamation fees. <br />OS[d sent a copy of the TDN to American Fuels. Colorado answered <br />the (TDN) by pointing out their law does not require the payment <br />of federal reclamation fees. Ther=fore OSM issued t11e above <br />mentioned NOV. <br /> <br />
