EXHIBIT"D"
RECLAMATION PLAN
a. When and what depth overburden will be replaced in relation to extraction?
Overburden will be moved directly to backsloping and pit floor coverage during stripping in the
mining operation. There will be none stockpiled. Exhibit "C" Mining Plan (c) details the
overburden thickness as ranging from 16" - 36" in the predominant soil types on site.
b. Maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes (horizontal:vertical)
The applicant proposes that during mining the pit slopes will be backfilled and sloped at 3H:1 V or
flatter as described immediately above for purposes of stability and ease of revegetation.
c. Measures that will be taken to revegetate the site.
(i) thickness of plant growth medium to be replaced.
The soils report indicates there is 5" - 6" of topsoil when will be replaced. The topsoil will be
stockpiled on the perimeter in low berms during mining to protect from erosion and preserve the
integrity, If a stockpile is to be left in place for more than one growing season, it will be seeded with
6#/A Western Wheatgrass.
(ii) Time of seeding, seedbed preparation, type, application rate and soil incorporation,
method of fertilizer application.
The site will be preferably seeded in the Fall. If this is not possible, then seeding will take place in
the early Spring. It appears that seeding will be unable to start for 3 - 5 years, due to the limited zise
of the deposit and the working area. The seedbed will be prepared either by discing or chiseling.
Fertilizer will be applied at the rate of:
40#/A available N
40#/A available P
Fertilizer will be applied immediately before discing or chiseling for incorporation into the soil.
(iii) State the species to be planted and the applicable quantities.
9S
Species Variety #/APLS
.S v ao sideoats grama Vaughn or Niner 2.00 Z.5
/c blue grama Lovington or Hachita 1.50 0.
.a L /5- western wheatgrass Barton 4.00 a D
Total 7.50
o,1G
p
