999 UPDATE
Date: Thursday 1 August 1996
To: Gregg Squire
Colorado Division of Minerals & Geology A11r, u Z
Office of Mined Land Reclamation
1313 Sherman St., # 215 of.minerals C
Denver, Colorado 80203
FAX #; (303) 832-8106
From: Bradford Janes
Professional Forester
P.O. Box 5538
Arvada, Colorado 80006-0538
(303) 427-9419
For: Varra Companies, Inc,
2130 South 96th Street
Broomfield, Colorado 80020
FAX # (303) 666-6743
Subject: (--Pit 41 - Permit M-74-052 -`and Dakolios Pit - Permit M-84-036.
Progress in response to your inspection report of 16 May 1996.
Be advised that a sign is in place at Pit #1 (see photograph, enclosed),
and correspondingly at Dakolios, to fully comply with Rule 3.1.12. A
durable metal sign is in place at both locations as previously agreed.
We received on 15 July from the State Engineer's Office their r y
planimeter estimate of the surface water determined from the 1979
aerial photograph. Their estimate of 50.1 acres is too low, and
subsequent research has uncovered the missing April 1980 aerial
photography which was received by my office on 16 July 1996.
We are attempting to verify acreage's on the 1980 aerial with the
State Engineers Office, who provided the areas planimetered but
not the acreage's per area measured. Additional delays resulted G t
from Chris' absence the week of July 22 to 29. Given the nature of
delays in getting information from the State Engineer's Office, it
would appear that additional time may be needed for this issue
UPDATE from Varra Companies, Inc. - Pit #1 - Permit M-74-052 and M-84-036. 1
