This water picked up sediments es it traveled down the road and bac into the <br />upstream sump, then was recycled to the portal sump, adding to the TSS problem There <br />are no alarms on the pumps. <br />The problem was discovered at about noon on 30 June 95. The Division of Mi tale end <br />Geology issued a Notice of Violation for this event based on a sample they collec don 30 <br />June 86 which showed TSS present at 548 mg/I. Powderhom reported shat on 29 une 95, <br />a visual inspection showed the water appeared clear, and a 16 June 95 sample bowed a <br />TSS concentration of 3 mg/I. <br />To get et the pump for repairs, they had. to pump down the sump. whlc en±ailad <br />discharging 30,000 - 50,000 gallons of water. <br />Written Report to Follow: Yes. The WOCD <br />will be copied on submittals required by the <br />NOV to DMG. <br />Comment: Remediating the immediate problem involved repairing the pump.
