Section 7: Summary of Neighborhood Meetings <br />Lafazge has held two neighborhood meetings during the last year to inform neighbors <br />about the mine. These meetings were held on October 5, 2005 and March 1 S, 2006. <br />At these meetings, Lafarge provided an update on activities being completed in <br />preparation of mining on the property. Lafarge also repeated its plans to complete <br />mining within a 5-year window. Lafazge personnel, including an operations manager, <br />were available for questions and discussion about the mine. <br />October 5, 2005 Meeting <br />At the October 5, 2005 meeting, Lafarge provided the following responses to concerns: <br />• Dust Control -Lafazge agreed to station a water truck on the property full- <br />time and instructed the slurry wall contractor to operate it during any <br />activities with the potential to generate dust. No further complaints about <br />dust have been received. <br />• Location of the mine access -Lafazge worked with Adams County Public <br />Works and our civil engineer to locate the access at a location that is not <br />directly across from an~ existing residence. The access is also located a <br />safe distance from 126` Avenue and a rise in the road located near the <br />north boundary of the pit. <br />• We agreed to work with Adams County about placing signs warning of <br />school buses in the azea. <br />• Agreed to leave a note for property owners about well monitoring during <br />each monthly visit. <br />• Maintenance of Fence -Lafarge has installed a new fence as required in <br />the CUP around the mine site. <br />Attendees of the October 5, 2005 meeting included: <br />Mazy Coughlin - 12460 Brighton Road <br />Willie Bostrom -12550 Brighton Road <br />Robert and Shirley Cutler -12345 Brighton Road <br />Ken and Lou Ellen Bromley -12600 Brighton Road <br />Norman and Chazlene Einspahr -12840 Brighton Road <br />Jolene Adams and children -12840 Brighton Road <br />March 15, 2006 Meeting <br />At the Mazch 15, 2006 meeting, Lafazge again provided a summary and update of <br />activities at the pit. This update included the plans to mine the southernmost portion of <br />the Albert Frei Property adjacent to the North. <br />The following responses to concerns were provided: <br />
