Section 7: Summary of Neighborhood Meetings Lafazge has held two neighborhood meetings during the last year to inform neighbors about the mine. These meetings were held on October 5, 2005 and March 1 S, 2006. At these meetings, Lafarge provided an update on activities being completed in preparation of mining on the property. Lafarge also repeated its plans to complete mining within a 5-year window. Lafazge personnel, including an operations manager, were available for questions and discussion about the mine. October 5, 2005 Meeting At the October 5, 2005 meeting, Lafarge provided the following responses to concerns: • Dust Control -Lafazge agreed to station a water truck on the property full- time and instructed the slurry wall contractor to operate it during any activities with the potential to generate dust. No further complaints about dust have been received. • Location of the mine access -Lafazge worked with Adams County Public Works and our civil engineer to locate the access at a location that is not directly across from an~ existing residence. The access is also located a safe distance from 126` Avenue and a rise in the road located near the north boundary of the pit. • We agreed to work with Adams County about placing signs warning of school buses in the azea. • Agreed to leave a note for property owners about well monitoring during each monthly visit. • Maintenance of Fence -Lafarge has installed a new fence as required in the CUP around the mine site.
