Minutes prepared by:
to leave the channel as it is today, but since that may not be possible, he would like to
minimize the impact to the adjacent trees. Bryan Kohlenberg added that he had a
concern that there was a legal responsibility to provide capacity up to 150-cfs for the
Fulton Ditch. He will check into this and report back..
l 1. Scott Franklin asked if the channel could be relocated to the east of the trees in the
area south of the confluence with First Creek. John Hickman said that a pond liner
had already been installed there and that overburdens had been balanced.
12. Scott Franklin added that he did not like the idea of 800-ft of hard and plastic lined
channel. He would prefer the lining to be more intermittent. He also needs to more
clearly understand why the heavy impact to the trees, south of the confluence with
First Creek, can't be avoided. John Hickman added that since the overall length of
channel had been increased, [here would be an overall increase in channel vegetation.
This may mitigate some of the impacts of the tree loss and wetlands loss due to [he
Seep relocation. Scott agreed and requested more information from John.
13. A question rose concerning how the crest of the drop on the Bull Seep Slough was
originally set by ICON. Craig Jacobson responded that it was set from estimates of
the channel invert from the Denver Water, January, 2001 mapping. Applegate and
Lidstone would investigate the crest elevation further.
14. Scott Franklin mentioned that the proposed First Creek channel appeared to impact
several trees. He added that again, he would prefer to save the trees. He would need
an explanation if they can't be saved due to the construction.
15. John Hickman provided a summary of issues that were to be addressed:
a. Bull Seep Crossing/UD&FCD access easement
b. Contouring of proposed modification to Reservoir B
c. Re-run hydrologic calculations for Bull Seep
d. Bryan Kohlenberg to look at legal requirements for Bull Seep capacity
e. Explanation to Scott Franklin for tree removal, channel hard points, and non-
we[land areas in the channel (grass-lined etc.).
f. Someone to initiate meeting with Brantner & Fulton Ditch Companies.
16. Comments regarding the design should be given to John Hickman via email, by
Thursday afternoon (11/15).
7.
