Per the
requirements stated in the Notice, please consider this letter as the
submittal of written comments in objection to the application which
are necessary to preserve our right to a hearing before the Mined
Land Reclamation Board.
The Boulder County Board of County Commissioners and citizens of
Boulder County have several serious concerns with the proposed
amendment. That plan was reviewed and approved by Boulder
County as part of the 1931 Special Use Review ,#SU-81-10 . During the
Special Use Review process, the proposed reclamation plan (including
three lakes with approximately 41. 5 acres of water surface) and how
the plan related to the subsequent use of the site after mining, were
a major issue. A reclamation plan combining lakes and land shaping
which would provide visually interesting and undulating topography,
and which would be suitable for the expected past-mining use was a
1 EXHIBIT
9
Ccunr/
