The sample matrix hac pmven to he quite a challenge in determining what <br />lave[ of seNeahle solid material cal repclrt. <br />ACZ performs Chia test by Standard Mfxhtldc 2540 F. This technique uses an Imhoff cone m gtrantltate <br />settleable solids over a spcc;ifitd amaum of time (1 hour). There samples, specitlcally the Culclh A site <br />pab numhv L8769-02) appear cal have a ullloidal suxpension that, neither srttles out physlrally on the <br />bottom of the cone nr floats on mp of the ware layer. The metltcld indicates to not include Boating <br />tnaterlal, )tut dues no[ address thix type of sl[uattan. Aftv the spaifled hour tlrere does appear m be a <br />slight separation between a water layer and the alllnidal layer, in the top few Inches of the water <br />~wlumn. The colloidal layer roaches dl the way at rho Mxtom of the cane. The wlluidal layv due:7c <br />nut appear to he material that looks Ilke typical settleable solids.
