June 9, 2005
AZURITE, Inc.
10001 County Road 12
PO Box 338
Cotopaxi, CO 81223
719-942-4178
Fax: 719-942-4178
State of Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology
Attention: Carl Mount, Senior Env. Protection Specialist
1313 Sherman Street Room 210
Denver, CO 80203
RE: LILLY MINES M-1987-028, 2005 WORK PLAN
Deaz Mr. Mount,
~~~~~~~~
JUN 1 31005
Division of Minernls end Geology
Responding to your comments to my June 7`s letter, please note the following
clarifications:
1) The estimate of 300 cubic yazds of sediments to be removed from Taylor Gulch
drainage is a gross estimate of material currently located above the sediment pond
structure that was built last fall soon after your comments were received by the
site contractor. Regazdless if the total volume of sediment is more or less than
300 yazds, as early as possible this field season, the sediments located above the
sediment control structure will be removed no later than August 1, 2005. The
sediment control structure currently in Taylor Gulch drainage, will be removed
after up-gradient drainage work is completed(grading of staging areas and road
crossing issue) and we aze certain that uncontrolled sedimentation into Taylor
Gulch has been totally arrested. The structure now in Taylor Gulch will be
removed no later than October 1, 2005, or as soon as the amendment process is
completed, which ever comes first.
2) A sediment fence will be installed at the base of the lower (main) staging azea to
keep fines fmm the exposed waste dump from encroaching onto Forest Service
property immediately down gradient of the toe of the dump.
3) Colorado Mazble commits to having these sediment related tasks completed by no
later than August 1, 2005, with the exception of the current sediment control
structure now located in Taylor Gulch (no later than October 1, 2005).
Very Truly Yours,
c_
Kenneth S. Klco, Azun'te, Inc., Agent for Colorado Mazble, Inc.
Copy: E.Crosby, B. Addison, B. Holloway
