04004
Banks and Gesso, LLC
Mr. Peter Plane
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Page 2
vehiculaz access to the farm fields (Photographs 1 and 2). There is no or extremely sporadic
shrub or tree overstory associated with these drainages along the majority of each length through
the project azea. One wetland pocket (0.01 acre) located in the southern portion of the western
farm field was considered non jurisdictional by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and not
important wildlife habitat by CDOW due to its small size and isolated location. No other
evidence of seeps, springs, tailwatet, wet meadows, or depressions within the cultivated fields
was observed. The South Plane River averages between 300 and 400 feet east of the property
boundary.
Native plant associations are limited to noncxistent within the project area, with the exception of
the banks of the Little Dry Creek and the irrigation delivery ditch. The farm fields aze planted
with annual crops. Within the proposed project expansion area, there are no open wet meadows,
riparian corridors, or plant associations that consist of an overstory and understory, which would
provide adequate cover for the PMJM.
As noted above, surface water present within the project area originates from irrigation and
precipitation Other than two of the drainages, there aze no identi&ed blue-line streams, and the
duration and nature of surface water provided through flood irrigation is not similar [o other
known PMJM habitats (e.g., tluviat systems).
For the above reasons, we request that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wncur in writing that
the above-described site can be disqualified from the requirements for a.snrvey for the PMJM.
Please contact me at your eazliest convenience if you require additional information.
Sincerely,
WRIGHT WATER ENGINEERS, INC.
By
lair Lei
Weti•ientist and Wildlife Biologist
ce: Lynn Mayer, L.G.
