It has been in operation for approximately
20 years and Mr. Webster has advised the undersigned
that he had no knowledge that a mined land reclamation
permit was required for an operation existing well prior
to the enactment of the mined land reclamation act.
He does, however, wish to assure your board that
he will be present personally at the scheduled hearing
January 28 and 29, 1981 and further that he is taking
immediate steps to compile the necessary information to
submit a permit application form to continue his present
operation at the above location.
We note from the application permit form that we
have requested that certain exhibits, to-wit: A-P are
requested and required in connection with the application
form. Preparation of these exhibits, naturally, require
some time and certain specialization. Therefore, would
appreciate your forbearance in taking immediate action on
the cease and desist order. We also request your direction
and advice with regard to parties or organizations that have
had experience preparing the above referred to exhibits and
the approximate cost of the same. There is somewhat of a
dearth of such expertise in the local Leadville community
and, therefore, your consultation would be more than
appreciated.
Yours very truly,
PC/md Pe~ Cos ri f
cc: Ellis B.
