Valdez ("Valle Escondido <br />Ranch") in or near the NW;, Section 32, Township 33 North, Range 9 <br />East, N.M.P.M., Conejos Cou ty, Colorado. I believe the file at <br />the Division is numbered M-11~-133. I understand the gravel pit has <br />not been permitted under the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act <br />(34-32-101, et seq., C.R.S.), but that Mr. Valdez may be in the <br />process of preparing an application for a permit. <br />I understand that A & S Construction Co., a Colorado <br />corporation, entered into a contract, Project No. SP-ETF-056-1 <br />(202), Contract No. EO-1557, District No. 5, in 1983 or 1984, to <br />perform some work in New Mexico. The contract provided, in <br />pertinent part, that the surfacing material be obtained from <br />"Surfacing Pit No. 59-26-5," and in the "Notice To Contractors," <br />page 2, under "Material Pit Status Continued," appeared the <br />following: <br />SP-ETF-056-1(2021 <br />59-26-S 4.8 Mi.
