Ms. Kate Pickford -March 23, 2005
Page Two
and a secondary containment chamber. Onsite fuel storage will consist of No. 2
diesel fuel (off-road) or Bio-diesel and/or unleaded gasoline. The vault will be
placed on a pre-cast concrete slab assembly. On completion, the installation will
be incorporated into the facility's Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures
(SPCC) Plan.
3) Thickener Maintenance Access Yault
MRV plans to construct a thickener underFlow valve and access vault exterior to
the southeast end wall of the milt building (see attached Figure 1). The vault is
anticipated to be a 8' x 8' x 10'-high cast concrete vault, partially below grade
level. The vault will house an underflow valve control for remote shutoff, and
facilitate maintenance access. It will be equipped with a drain to capture and
direct any residual process streams via agravity-flow pipeline routed (exterior of
and parallel to the southeast mill building wall) to the existing tailing
impoundment. MRV notes that this concepUfeature was previously presented to
MLRD (by ITEC) in 1998 and received verbal approval at that time. However,
MRV is incorporating this item in Technical Revision No. 06 to ensure adequate
documentation of the change.
In accordance with CRS 34-32-127(2)(1), MRV hereby encloses the MLRD
Technical Revision Fee of $150.00 (Check Number 1724). If you require any
additional information or clarification on any aspect of this Technical Revision,
please do not hesitate to contact either James M. Beck, P.E. (MRV's
environmental engineering and permitting consultant) at (303) 985-1521, or Matt
C. Collins, Mine Manager at (720) 565-3448.
Sincerely,
MOUNT ROYALE VENTURES, LLC
Matt C. CoNins
Mine Manager
jmb
attachment
cc: J. M. Beck
R. T.
