This was followed
with a certified copy of Maps 11 and 12 Surface Facilities
and Roads - East and West Portals, submitted under separate
cover, correcting active road locations and deleting
decommissioned roads. The surface area affected by
decommissioned roadways remains as disturbed area, subject
to alternative uses. Typically these uses involved coal
storage, a use approved prior to road construction or
addressed by another permit revision. Thus no change in
bonding is required.
Another permit revision entitled, RDA Access and Light Use
Roads, was also submitted April 30, 1993. Map 11 Surface
Facilities and Roads - East Portal, showing the proposed
light use road location is enclosed.
This submittal also included a proposed design change for
the RDA access road. A new access road Classification,
Remote and RDA Access Roads, is depicted in cross-section on
Map 11. This change is necessary to comply with Mine Safety
and Health (MSHA) regulations.
