In
order to comply with Federal law and regulations, the large buildings located
on public lands must be removed at the end of mining and pilot plant operations
or authorized through a lease under Section 302 of the Federal Land Policy and
Management Act. The grazing lease holder does not want the large buildings
left intact or deeded to him.
We would like to make the following recommendations concerning the rest of the
permit amendment. We recommend minimum specifications be established for the
plastic liner proposed for the laboratory disposal site. No other problems
were identified through our review of this amendment and approval is recommended.
Enclosed are six slides taken in September 1984 by compliance staff from this
office to document reclamation operations of sample pits. These sites are on
public lands authorized through notices submitted under 43 CFR 3809 . Due to
time constraints we did not have duplicates made of these slides, therefore we
request they be returned to this office.
CONSERVE
AMERICZ9
ENERGY
c
Save Energy and You Serve America!
