EXHIBIT L RECLAMATION COSTS
This reclamation cost estimate in based on the assumption
that there will be no more than 41.30 acres t in the mine that
needs some form of reclamation. Since the final reclamation plan
calls for have the floor of the mine graded for use as commercial
area no topsoilnq and revegetation is necessary on 24.17 acres.
In this calculation, we have used a time period in the not too
distant future to calculate the bond. The activities that would
be necessary at the time, are grading and shaping the mine floor,
dozing 5 benches on the mine face, resoilinq the benches with 12
inches of growth medium and seeding the bench surfaces. Trees
would then be planted on the benches. We have also included
hauling costs to remove miscellaneous equipment and scrap from
the site.
The method used to revegetate the benches will remain as
currently permitted. This is an attempt to set the bond so there
is flexibility to operate without reevaluating the bond yearly.
According to this scenario, we will have to respread 25,620
cubic yards of soil; do 244,444 cubic yards of cut work on the
benches; and revegetate 15.88 ac. ±. The table below outlines
the various areas of disturbance at that time. The amount of
soil that will be re-spread is based on an average of 12 inches.
Our cost estimate to do all of the shaping and soiling in this
cost estimate is based on using a D-8N dozer for the cut work; a
988 loader for resoilinq, and a 140G Blade to shape and grade the
mine floor, but the actual equipment used by the permittee may
differ. The revegetation cost figure includes grass seed, mulch,
chemical fertilizer (ammonium nitrate & superphosphate) and
drilling costs.
The volume of fill to create benches was found by figuring 5
benches, 1100 feet long, 40 feet wide and moving 30 feet of broke
rock needed to be done.
STAGE IuNITS Ac.,
LFT, CU OR PIECES)
RECLAMATION ACTIVITY I Y TOTALS
REBOIL 15.88 0.00 15.88
REVEGETATE 15.88 0.00 15.88
UNROADABLE & SCRAP
LOADS 35 0 35
BENCH AREAS 244444 0 244444
ROADS 1.17 0.25 1.42
COMMERCIAL AREA 24.17 1.05 25.22
TREES 260 260
30
