ExNisrT E
RECLAMATpN PLAN (CONT)
AIIYDm ADAIL 2002
area. It also allows us to calculated how much fill material
will need to be retained to complete reclamation if mining ended
prematurely. This material will be stockpiled adjacent to the
area where it is needed. it will be crusher fines and dirt
acquired during mining and processing.
Amendment # 6 - EAST SLOPE/FLOOR OF NEW AREA
This area is basically an extension of what is now approved.
As mining progresses into the new area the east wall will extend
toward the saddle in the northeast part to the new area. In the
northeast corner of the mine the highwall will intersect with the
west slope in a transition from vertical to 3:1 slopes. Reclama-
tion and construction of the final benches will follow the
approved plan currently in place. The floor area will be ex-
panded by 12.93 acres ± and will need little reclamation.
Reclamation of the bench area will follow the approved plan for
benches.
Amendment # 7 - SECONDARY ACCESS
To build the new road a corridor, 1:1 slopes from the road
surface up onto the surrounding hillsides will be built in the
area shown on the maps. To keep these slopes stable they will be
a series of small stair step benches averaging 10 feet high and
10 feet wide. This is necessary to create a stable slope in the
cut. The small faces will help lessen the visual impacts and
allow the operator to blend benches and faces across the slope so
they look more natural. The cross hatched area on the maps show
the limits of the disturbance area, the road surface is shown as
a dashed line and the perimeter line is the top of the graded
slope. The disturbed area covers approximately 3.28 ac. ±. As
each bench is completed it will be resoiled and revegetated.
19
