RECLAMATION PLAN EXHIBIT E
N1!®m APRIL 2002
In this amendment the method of mining and reclamation
remain unchanged from what is now approved, only the size of the
mine will change. Grading will be such that drainage of the
interior area will be toward the existing natural drainage course
that is at the western mine entrance.
This proposed change increases the amount of revegetation
that will be done on the mine. Under the old plan only the flat
benches around the mine needed to be reclaimed, and the floor
area is designated as commercial area. Under the new plan this
does on change on the existing mine area. What does change is
that the north face will be removed and a long 3h to lv slope
will be created along the north side of the new area. There will
still be near vertical benches in the new area, they will only
exist as an extension of the east face and around Frei Lake on
the west side of the mine.
all of the mined area has been combined into Phase I to
create a single mining and reclamation stage/phase. Reclamation
for the existing areas of Phase i remains unchanged from the
previously approved plan. The current methods and plan to
reclaim the area will be used on the new area with a minor change
in the tree planting scheme.
in the two areas where vertical benches will be left, around
the lake and along the ease and south side of the existing permit
area, the overall bench slopes (horizontal to vertical) may vary
between Oh:ly and l.lh:ly. The Current Conditions Map shows that
existing natural slopes are, about 0.8h:1v in certain places
along the south side of the property, and approximately how the
site looks at this time. The operator expects the slope of the
mine floor when finished, to be a very gentle, one or two percent
from east to west, thereby establishing positive drainage. On
14
