Routten
Senior Reclamation Specialist
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203-2273
RE: N.O.V. C-9I'~019, File C-81-041
Dear Mr. Routten:
~,~~~iQ~
SEP2S1991
dined Land
Reclamation Division
This letter is to provide further information on circumstances
surrounding N.O.V. C-91-019. I would like to clarify that I do
not believe the referenced areas fail to pass surface drainage
from a disturbed area through a sediment pond or treatment
facility before leaving the permit but that the referenced areas
may not have been adequately described in the permit application.
Both areas are small, level, lightly disturbed areas with a heavy
washed gravel surface and a concrete pad. Both areas would
qualify as small areas exemption due to these conditions, even
though not adequately listed as such. Abatement will be to list
these areas in our permit application with no actual change in
the drainage system. A technical revision to this affect will be
submitted soon.
2 am not sure how these areas have been over looked for so long.
I remember inspecting these sites with Gary Fritz of OSM soon
after I started here and never questioned their inclusion in the
permit application.
Let me know if there are any further questions.
Sincerely,
~ ~~,~
Larr M. Reschke
Engineer
LMR:th
