STATE OF COLORADO
DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
OF'O O Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St..Room 215 ,
Denver,CO 80203 ••leis
Phone:(303)866-3567
FAX:(303)832-6106
Rov Romer
Governor
November 6, 1992 Michael B.Long
Division Director
Ms . Box 721
Lamar, CO 81052
RE: Earl-Hoffman-Reyer Pit #3 (Permit M-90-087) , Adequacy
Concerns Regarding Proposed Technical Revision #1
Dear Ms . Nordyke:
I have reviewed the proposed change in the permit area outline
for the above referenced pit . I believe that this outline, if
approved, would allow all of the permit area for this pit to be
incorporated within the permit area for the Earl-Hoffman-Reyer
Pit #3 (Permit M-91-086) as Carder, Inc . wishes .
I have, however, one concern with approving this revised outline.
That concern is with disturbance created by the operator within
that area being eliminated from the 110 (2) permit area by this
revision. If there was disturbance by mining or related activity
in the area being removed from the 110 (2) permit outline, then it
is the 112 permit area that should be revised and enlarged to
encompass this disturbance. Please indicate whether the operator
disturbed any part of the area proposed to be eliminated from the
110 (2) permit outline with mining or mining related activity.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
James C. Stevens
Senior Reclamation Specialist
JCS/er:z
M: \OSS\ERN\M90087
