T6N. R87W. Routt County. CO
Dear Bryan:
Inspection of the Sedimentation Ponds at the Meadows No.l
Mine site on 1June94 resulted in the following observations:
Sedimentation Pond No.]
Riprap at the outflow of the
good condition, and a slight
or gullies are present on
embankment and the vegetation
50 to 100 percent. A spring o
downhill from the impoundment
be related to the pond.
20" dewatering culvert is in
drip flow is active. No rills
the downhill side of the
canopy appears variable from
utside the permit area (?) and
structure does not appear tc
The emergency spillway is in acceptable condition and no
indications are present that suggest water flow in this
structure in the recent past. Riprap at the outflow is
adequate and reflects no indication of erosion. Vegetation
covers approximately 50 percent of the top of the dam.
The front side of the dam is heavily vegetated and the riser
is clear of debris with some water in the culvert. The
lateral that enters the pond area near the emergency
spilla~ay displays vegetation in the ditch bottom and there
is no indication of ditch erosion. A partially riprapped
ditch that enters the pond from the east is incised up to
one foot at scattered locations.
