Darn from the A oust 16, 1993 blincic survey provided to our offices on August 31. 1998 indicated
that wben compared to the 1988 survey,'the two monuments situated over the main were lower in
elevation. The monument near the center of the main was measured at 1 S6 inches lower in
elevation in August of 1993 than in May of 1988. The monument nearer the edge of the main was
measured at 4.08 inches lower in elevation is August of 1993 than in May of 1988. These
differences in elevation were, however, smaller than. the.elevation differences noted by the July
1993 Survey.
Because the OSM determined that the difference's in elevation between the July 1993 Miacic survey
data and the May 1988 survey data fell withiu~acceptable survry error, it would appear that the
August 1993 survey data would also fall within acceptable sarvey error_ As such, it would appear.
that the August 1993 Mincic survey data do not form a basis for the Division to t:hange its
conclusions with regard to the Tatum structure.
Attachments {Iigure I)
cc: James A Pendleton, DMG
Kent A.
