(Colowyo) PERMIT NO.: C-81-019 MINOR REVISION 59: PROPOSED RECLAMATION CHANGES FOR CY 2002 Dear Mr. Walker, Due to the shortage of seed sources caused by drought and fires, Colowyo is experiencing difficulty ordering certain approved plant species for the 2002 reclamation year. We have been working with Granite Seed in Lehi, Utah. We are proposing the following changes to the 2002 reclamation blocks: Table 2.05-7 Grasses Mt. Fescue will be substituted with Sandberg Bluegrass @ 1.5 seeds/sq. ft. Pacific Aster will be substituted with Small Burnet @ 1.0 seeds/sq. ft. The substitutions for the above two grasses/forbs is straight forward using Table 2.05-8. Forts Pasture Sage will be substituted by adding to Palmer penstemon @ 1.6 seeds/sq. ft. (Palmer penstemon is already approved and in the list). Subshrubs and Shrubs Saskatoon serviceberry will be substituted by adding to Fourwing Saltbrush @ 2.0 seeds/sq. foot. Antelope bitterbrush will be substituted by adding to Mt. Big Sagebrush @ 2.1 seeds/sq ft. Mt. Snowberry will be substituted by adding to Rubber Rabbitbrush @ 1.4 seedslsq ft. The substitutions for the shrub species only involves increasing the rates of 3 species already approved and in the list. Seeding rates will ensure an average of 29.2 seeds/sq. ft. is achieved. Table 2.05-9 we have a commitment of 21 acres as np~roved in MR-57 Svmohoricarpos rotundifolius is the current name for Svmahoricaroos oreoohilus, which is available is available @ 75,000 seeds/Ib.
