Long
Division Director
This meeting was attended by Rich Munson, Jim Cooper, Michael Rosenthal, Charles Sandberg, Susan
McCannon, David Berty and myself. At this meeting the OSM presented a plan that would be
acceptable to the OSM Denver office but has to sell this to AFO.
This plan would return a horseshoe shaped ridge at the southern end of the Pit #1 area at an elevation of
8300 feet. The ridge would be displaced 300 feet from its pre-mine position. The idea of returning the
ridge back was proposed in a meeting between the 3 parties last week. The volume would be about
300,000 yds'. OSM wants to reproduce the ridge feature. OSM's plan is similar to Ken's plan but wider
and a little higher. Next Monday there is a meeting between Sen. Armstrong and Campbell's rep., Ron
Cottony Mike and Susan? in Washington. Kerr gave the Division maps of the proposal but OSM did not
have an extra for the Division.
