O
:.~~~' .
Roy Romer
Governor
Michael B Lnng
Divivon Direclrn
Due to the administrative time frames (adequacy review, public comment) involved in obtaining
Division approval of a revision to ensure that the Sanborn Creek Mine dewatering pond effluent is
in compliance with state and federal standards, the Division is extending the abatement due date
for Notice of Violation C-94-002 to March 21, 1994 (see attached). This extension does not
relieve Somerset Mining Company of its requirement that the mine water discharge pond effluent
currently comply with state and federal requirements. Please submit a complete and comprehen-
sive package, required for abatement of NOV C-94-002, by the end of February so that review,
approval and public comment periods can be complete by the abatement deadline.
If you have questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
_~s~J~
Steve S.
