Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
Joe, I have reviewed the changes suggested by the operator For PHC section (probable
hydrologic consequences) of the permit regazding impact to groundwater from the "Pond
C clarification agent" The operator indicates that there will be an impact to groundwater
from several constituents of the discharge, but they should elaborate further and indicate
if there is any potential impact to down-gradient users.
The suggested question follows.
In the response, Bowie Resources Limited has indicated that there will be some
impact to the groundwater from total dissolved salts (TDS), aluminum and chloride
in the Pond C discharge. Please elaborate on that impact, indicating potential
impacts.to downgradient users or to subirrigated vegetation in the area down-
gradient of the discharge. A brief analysis similar to that used for impacts on the
Fire Mountain Canal would be appropriate.
cc: Sandy Brown
Office of Off ce of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
