Effect on wells, Basin
Resources has stated that their
activities could affect the water table.
Notes that subsidence has occurred over
NW #1. Visual inspection over area does
not indicate any drastic or disruptive
surface expression that has been
suggested would occur. This reference is
in the letters and memos from the State
of Colorado, Department of Natural
Resources, Division of Minerals and
Geology and the OSM, discussing the
subsidence issues at the Tatum house.
Subsidence, Letter from Basin
Resources to Joseph Dudash, 1/3/94
Discusses monitoring surveys at mine
on Third North panel, notes that there
has been no movement. 3 North has
been compared to 1 North because of
similar extraction. The comparison is
not valid because there is no flooding or
soft bottom reported in 3 North.
Also discussed subsidence over NW #1,
indicated subsidence that ranged from
4.5 to 6.5 feet.(See above comments)
