Pioa<er Engineering <br />evaluation of mineral opportunities for acquisition or joint venture on <br />a worldwide basis. These evaluations included projects in gold an <br />silver, as well as most other commodities, complete with <br />marketing studies. <br />Participated in all negotiations for recommended acquisitions. <br />Managed partially developed Zinc properties in Tennessee. <br />Directed engineering and design for open pit and underground mine <br />planning. Also directed environmental audits, land status review, <br />and permit evaluation for various exploration and development <br />projects. <br />Involved as a consultant in the transfer of technology with coal and <br />oil shale sister subsidiaries. <br />Ozark Lead Company <br />(Kennecott Copper Corp.) <br />. Operations supervision for 8000 tpd underground open-slope, room <br />and pillar, Lead-Zinc mine and concentrator. including production <br />start-up. Responsible to the General Manager. (1968-1975) <br />Worked on problems and negotiations with smelter, operating <br />permits and mineral royalty considerations. <br />• Related experience (1964-1967) as supervisor, mine engineer and <br />designer, in shaft sinking and shaft drilling; underground and <br />. surface plant and construction, by contract and with company <br />employees. Other experience in equipment purchasing; drilling and <br />blasting; designing and operating haulage, hoisting, and materials <br />. handling systems; mine dewatering, rock mechanics, and <br />. ventilation requirements and supervising surveying, and ore reserve <br />calculations. <br />Participated as a consultant on engineering problems with sister <br />coal subsidiary. <br />Bear Creek Mining Co. <br />(Kennecott Copper Corp.) (1961-1964) <br />Project supervision and engineering for mine exploration and <br />• development including surveying and mapping, ore reserve <br />calculations, computer applications, road construction, mine <br />dewatering, and mine planning. Work centered on exploring and <br />• developing over 100 million tons of lead-zinc reserves. <br />Education <br />Graduate of Colorado School of Mines with an Engineer of Mines Degree.
