Gerity' <br />Mining Engineering is amulti-disciplined field with required course work in <br />various engineering specialties including Mining, Geotechnical, Geological, <br />Metallurgical, Structural, Civil, and Electrical. Career and professional <br />assignments have included work in each of these areas. <br />Specific experience for Carlton E. Gerity, relating to this problem and not included <br />in detail on the attached Cumcula Vitae include: <br />Mr Gerity has qualified as an expert witness in trial, testifying in state court <br />concerning coal mine subsidence. He has testified as an expert witness on six <br />other occasions on matters that were mining related. <br />He has more than 35 years experience in the underground mining industry <br />with engineering practice in ground support and rock mechanics. <br />Mr Gerity is responsible for ongoing work, for more than 10 years, for land <br />developers in southern Colorado. These companies have acquired properties <br />overlying historic underground coal mining. The work consists of writing <br />reports about the potential of subsidence on these lands. <br />Mr Gerity is an expert in utilizing subsidence prediction computer programs <br />and modifying parameters to fit actual situations, work has been done for <br />western coal mining problems. Worked with program writer on the Beta <br />version of the new Windows version of the SDPS software, version 5.1. <br />He has more than 15 years experience in permitting coal mining and related <br />technical studies. He is very knowledgeable in the state and federal rules and <br />regulations. <br />He has been responsible for geotechnical, slope-stability problem-solving in <br />both metal mines and coal mines. <br />Mr. Gerity was responsible for an inactive coal property near Cedaridge, <br />Colorado, which had ongoing geotechnical problems. These included soil <br />failures and landslides. <br />Mr. Gerity has conducted soil surveys for building permits, and conducted <br />percolation tests for septic systems with required soil analysis. <br />He is a Registered Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor with current <br />practice in Colorado. <br />Curriculum Vitae included in Appendix 1, may also be viewed at <br />ww w. prosawey. com/affiliates/pi on a er/ <br />
