Stevens
Senior Reclamation Specialist
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St., Rm. 215
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Telluride Gravel, Inc. -- Alexander Pit
Permit No. M-76-032
Dear Mr. Stevens:
ng4o~.:q (i. i.•t6ic. ~~: .~ri ~~u~y
This letter is in response to the Notice of Violation and Cease and
Desist Order (No. T1-93-017) issued May 27, 1993 by the MLRB, and to items
nos. 2, 7 of your correspondence dated June 17, 1993.
The operator intends to comply with the order and has ceased
operations on the Forest Service portion of the area and, as you are aware,
has requested a permit to use the area in question. (Note: a fence
dividing the two areas has subsequently been placed by the Forest Service.)
The operator has contacted the Forest Service on several occasions to
determine the status of a decision pertaining to the request for right of
entry. To date, no action has been taken and no decision date has been
specified by the Forest Service. Therefore no additional information can
be submitted until the matter is resolved.
It is difficult to predict when the Forest Service will act upon this
issue. On the basis of your recommendation, the operator is therefore
requesting reconsideration of the date specified by the Board to August 1,
1993.
Please feel free to call if you have any questions.
Very truly yours,
~~~~ Y
Michael D.
