Lonti <br />Division DireUOr <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 1 I8, <br />Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on January 5, 1998, an application to renew an existing permit <br />to conduct coal mining opemtions at the North Thompson Creek Mine was considered complete for the purposes of <br />filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located <br />approximately 10 miles southwest of Carbondale, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />T8S, R89W; Portions of Sections 21, 22, 27, 28, 33, 34 and 35 <br />T9S, R89W; Portions of Sections 2, 3 and 4 <br />T7S, R88W; Portions of Sections 20, 29, 30 and 32 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Stony Ridge and <br />Carbondale. <br />Renewal of a valid, existing permit [o conduct coal mining at the North Thompson Creek Mines. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Garfield County Courthouse, 109 8th St <br />Ste 200, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, and at the Division office.
