Representatives of the Ducommon Business Trust have been in contact with our Access Permit Unit to obtain the necessary permits for access into [his site. As the mining and reclamation operations continue through the years, the location of the main access will be relocated for easier access into the areas being mined. Accesses that are no longer necessary will be closcd. If the mining operations increase, and the volumes exceed those that are allowed by the existing permit, or if the property redevelops into other uses in the future, the property owners wilt be required to apply to CDOT for a new access permit. Roadway improvements, such as the construction of auxiliary lanes, may also be required at that time. CDOT has no objection to the proposed amendment to the existing mining operation, or to the expanded use to a sand and gravel operation, as long as we continue to be informed of any change in operations in the future.
