~"` ~' ~- N°'~' c'~°` mss, P~ ~ • III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
.~s~r~f r~~. 999
P~ .-
P 86': Porn 86 lies outside the area of any potential mining impacts. For this
reason, the pond was rat observed in June. The pond was observed in July
(1/2 full) aryl August (1/8 full) 1992 and found partially full with no
discharge occurring. No water quality samples were obtained. A
sufficient database exists to characterize pre-mining water quality at
this site. No further monitoring was conducted during 1992 as it was
presumed the pond remained below discharge level throughout the remainder
of the year. 'There is no practical reason to wntinue monitoring at Pond
86 as no mine related impacts can reasonably be expected to occur at this
site.
P 87': Pond 87 lies outside the area of any potential mining impacts. The pored
was observed in June (1/2 full), July (1/2 full), and August (1/3 full)
1992 and foutri partially full with no discharge oa.-urring. No water
quality samples were obtained. A sufficient database exists to
characterize pre-mining water quality at this site. No further monitoring
was conducted during 1992 as it was presumed the pond remained below
discharge levels throughout the remainder of the year. There is no
practical reason to continue monitoring at Pond 87 as no mine related
impacts can reasonably be expected to occur at this site.
P 88: Pond 88 lies outside the subsidence zone although small areas of the
contributing watershed are within this zone. Pond 88 was observed in June
(3/4 full), July (1/2 full), and August (dry) 1992. No water quality
samples were obtained as no flows were observed. A sufficient database
exists to characterize pre-mining water quality at this site. No further
monitoring was conducted during 1992 as the pond was observed dry and
presummed to remain dry throughout the remainder of the year.
P 89: Pord 89 lies outside the subsidence zone but downstream of the potentially
affected area over the west coal pod. No mining which could reasonably be
expected to effect changes in water quality at this pond took place during
or prior to 1992. Porn 89 was observed in June (7/8 full), July (1/3
full), and August (1/4 full). The Julv observation was omitted from the
AHR. No water quality samples were obtained. A sufficient database
exists to characterize pre-mirwxJ water quality at this site. No further
monitoring was conducted during 1992 as it was presumed the pond remained
below discharge levels throughout the remainder of the year.
P 812: Pond 81 overlies an area of the Fast mine inactive since 1983. No retreat
mining has occurred in the vicinity of Pond 81. Porci 81 was observed in
June (1/2 full), July (1/4 full), and August (1/8 full) 1992. No water
quality samples were obtained as no flaws were observed. A sufficient
database exists to characterize water quality at this site. Available
water quality information for this pond has all been collected subsequent
to advance mining in this area. No further monitoring was conducted
during 1992 as it was presumed the pond remained below discharge levels
throughout the remainder of the year.
P 85: Pond 85 lies over an area protected from subsidence by virtue of the
mining method utilized (no retreat mining with pillars sized to prevent
subsidence). Pord 85 was observed in June (7/8 full), July (3/4 full),
and August (i/2 full) 1992. No water quality samples were obtained as no
1
