• NOTICE OF FILING APPLICATION
COLORADO MINED LAND RECLAMATION PERMIT TECHNICAL REVISION—
AJjected Land Exchange
Notice to the Soil Conservation Board of Supervisors
Grand County
The Climax Molybdenum Company, Henderson Mine and Mill (Henderson) intends to apply to
the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board (MLRB) for a Technical Revision —Affected Land
Exchange to its current Mining and Reclamation Permit (M-77-342) for its milling operation
located in Grand County. The attached information is being provided to notify you of the
location and nature of the proposed activities included in the revision. The entire revision
application will be on file with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) and
with the Grand County Clerk and Recorder at the time of its submittal to the Division.
Henderson proposes to add an additional 1.43 acres to the affected land at the present Henderson
Mill site. This acreage is being added to incorporate two temporary road segments into the
• affected lands. The increase in affected land will not increase mining or milling capacities at the
site. Prior to approval of this revision, 2.0 acres of undisturbed land presently within the permit
area will be deleted from the affected land area. Henderson owns the acreage added and deleted.
Additional disturbed acreage will be reclaimed to a post-mining land use of rangeland and
wildlife habitat in the manner defined in the Permit. Pursuant to Section 34-32-116 (7)0), CRS,
the MLRB is required to confer with the local Soil Conservation Service Board of Supervisors
before approving the post-mining land use proposed in the revision. Accordingly, the MLRB
would appreciate your comments on the proposed action. Please note that, in order to preserve
your right to a hearing before the MLRB on this application, you must submit written comments
on the application within twenty (20) days of the date of the last publication on the notice
pursuant to Section 34-32-112 (10), CRS.
If you would like to discuss the proposed post-mining land use, or any other issue regarding this
permit action, please contact the Division, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado
80203 (303/866-3567).
•
