PERMIT REVISION PR-04 PROPOSED PUBLIC NOTICE Oxbow Muting, Inc. (Oxbow), P.O. Box 535, Somerset, Colorado 81434, has filed an application for a Perrnit Revision to the approved mining and reclamation plans for the Somerset, Sanborn Creek, and Elk Creek Mmes. The approved Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) permit, Permit No. G81-022, provides for underground coal mvring and related surface operations and activities and reclamation of mining-related disturbance. The proposed revision addresses expansion of the mine permit area to include the recently acquired Ells Creek Federal Lease Tract, a comprehensive update and reformatting of the Muting and Reclamation Plan document, and document revisions to address the ongoing DMG permit renewal review. It should be noted that the Permit Revision application addresses only previously approved mining and reclamation activities and specifically does not include mining of the Elk Creek Tract Federal coal reserves. Areas covered under the Permit Revision application are located in Gunnison and Delta Counties immediately north of the town of Sotnetset and State Highway 133 on the Noah Fork of the Gunnison River. These areas are covered by the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Somerset, Bowie, Bull Mountain, and Electric Mountain quadrangle maps.
